Expara IDM Ventures
Expara IDM Ventures (EIDMV) is a virtual business accelerator
for start-up and early stage companies in the interactive
and digital media industry in Singapore. It partners with
venture capitalists, angel investors, institutions of higher
learning, research institutes and government agencies to identify
promising companies to incubate, mentor and invest in. EIDMV
is one of the private companies approved as a mentor in the
i.JAM Micro-financing scheme, an initiative of the IDM R&D
Programme Office (IDMPO). EIDMV has close strategic partnerships with Upstream Ventures, one of Singapore's leading early-stage venture capital funds, and Extream Ventures, one of the NRF-approved seed venture funds.
About the i.JAM Micro Funding Scheme
The i.JAM Micro Funding Scheme is designed "to support
startups in their exploration of the technical merit or feasibility
of technologies and ideas that have the potential to create
business disruptions and build new industry subsectors."
IDMPO has appointed mentors to identify, mentor and otherwise
support startups, to administer funding to startups, and to
invest in the start-ups they mentor.
Companies who are accepted into EIDMV's virtual business
accelerator will receive a S$50,000 grant from IDMPO an equity
investment of 10-25% of the grant amount, and a full range
of advisory and support services from EIDMV. For more information

About the IDM
R&D Programme Office
"The IDM R&D Programme Office (IDMPO), hosted by
the Media Development Authority (MDA), was created to coordinate
efforts between the multi-agency team including agencies such
as the Economic Development Board (EDB), Infocomm Development
Authority (IDA), the Agency for Science, Technology and Research
(A*STAR), Ministry of Education (MOE), Ministry of Information,
Communications and the Arts (MICA) and the Ministry of Trade
and Industry (MTI). The IDMPO coordinates a nation wide effort
to implement an IDM R&D Programme that will support all
IDM stakeholders, including industry players, Institutes of
Higher Learning (IHLs) and individuals." (from the IDM
