Expara Vietnam was established in 2015 and on the same year, the 1st Batch of (CEVA) CLAS Expara Vietnam Accelerator was launched in partnership with Microsoft and CLAS and subsequently after the success of First Batch, the 2nd Batch of (CEVA) CLAS Expara Vietnam Accelerator followed and has completed with eight graduating startups, four of which received a grant of $10,000 each from EV-III. The teams are agritech startup Agrhub, communications platform AZStack, global multi-platform media company Minecaftly and software provider Wedidit Solutions. AZStack has also been invested by Captii Ventures, while some others are progressing with venture capital fundraising. Book reading app Checkit is raising $300,000 with commitments from two investors. Wiads, a wifi marketing company, is expanding to north Vietnam as well as nine provinces across the country. They have signed partnership agreement with CMC Telecom for cross-selling products, and are expecting to close investments within next month.
In 2017, Expara Vietnam and Saigon Innovation Hub (SIHUB) have organized the Accelerator Express Program to help increase capacity for startup businesses with fund raising, and viable business plans to get to the next step. This program is the first start of Expara Vietnam and SIHUB partnership that we plan to extend into a program as well.
Following the success of (CEVA) CLAS Expara Vietnam Accelerator and SIHUB Accelerator, Expara will be launching a new accelerator soon in partnership with RMIT Vietnam. The accelerator will leverage the partners’ expertise in tertiary education and entrepreneurship mentoring to help grow successful startups in the country.
